Inventor's name: Nikola Tesla

Date of birth: July 9, 1856. Born in Smiljan.

Date of death: Jan. 7, 1843. Died in New York City.

Invention: He invented the alternating-current (AC) power system and was a electrical engineer.

5 Interesting Facts: After graduating from University of Prague (1880) he worked as a telephone engineer. Later on he invented a high-frequency transformer (called Tesla coil). This transformer made AC power transmissionpractical. He got his own lab where he continued his study on electricity. Although he was quite famous back then he didn't allow himself to get too close to people, for this reason he only had a few friends. Discovering the AC current wasn't all he did, he made many inventions in histime some of these include the teleautomatic boat,a telephone repeater, rotating magnetic field principle.
