Library Information

Hours of Operation:   Monday to Thursday 8:15 - 3:30 pm

                                    Friday 8:15 - 3:00 pm

 

Study Periods:            [Senior High Students Only]

Senior high students are welcome to be in the library during their study period to work

on projects, use the computers, read for personal use or complete class work.

 

Junior High Tests: Students may write subject tests at lunch time in the library due to missed class time for a scheduled

appointment or illness.

 

Borrowing Materials: Students may borrow material (fiction/nonfiction) from the library for a two week period.

                                     Magazines/Periodicals may be borrowed for a one week period. If students need an

                                     extension on the borrowing period please make the necessary arrangements with the

                                     Teacher- librarian. It is very IMPORTANT  to return materials borrowed on time, so that

                                     others may access to the materials.

Computers:                  The library presently has 11 computers and a printer for student use. 

 

FAQ's:                        [Frequently Asked Questions]

                                    1. How do I know when my book is overdue?  Students will be notified by a phone call

                                     to home or through the morning announcements.

                                   2. How do I get materials photocopied? Students will need to complete a request form

                                    identifying the material needed and pay 10 cents a page in advance for the items. The

                                    Teacher-librarian will need one day to complete requests.

                                   3. May I bring food or drink into the library? Please refrain from bringing food or drink

                                     into the library.

                                   The rationale for this policy is to:

                                    * aid in preservation and care of library materials and electronic materials

                                    * maintain a pest free environment

                                    * reduce damage to furniture

                                    * reduce litter

                                    * ensure a clean environment for studying and working

                                    4. How do I volunteer to or obtain a work experience position in the library? See the

                                     Teacher-librarian who will collaborate with the Coop instructor regarding a co-op

                                     placement.

                                    5. How do I book equipment? Students must have a written request for equipment from

                                     the subject teacher and record the information in the AV booklet in the library.

                                    6.What are the expectations when using the library? To be respectful to others within

                                     the key areas of the library.
