Carol Matas

The fasanating award-winnning Canadian author Carol Matas has made her newest novel, Rebecca. She has done over two dozen novels for children and young adults. She brings all sorts of different kinds of format into her novels into one and that is what people find makes it so much more interesting. This makes her stand out more than other authors these days, expecially for novels for that age.

Carol had always loved to read ever since she was little. Although she loved reading, she wanted to become an actor as well. She went to University for English and acting in her spare time. She got around with people that wrote in there spare time and who shared their stories. When other people read her stories, they liked them so for the next few years she did it as a hobby. It is not until she got pregnant with her first child that she decided to start writing her first full length book.


She is mostly known a lot for her Holocaust books. Some of them are in the schoolastic collection and make for a very interesting conversation and tell what really went on then. The Holocaust books she is known for are,

Lisa, Jesper, After The War, The Garden, and Daniel's Story

In 1970 she had gotton a B.A (English), The University in Western Ontario and In 1972 she was a graduate of the Actors lab, in London England. She also has some teaching experience as well.
