Media Poem

In an exploration of how the media changes advertisements  over time, our Grade 8 students created original ads for the future, which they presented to their class. Several were selected to be scanned and included in our website. A group of students from the class looked after the scanning and entering of the text to share some of the ads of their classmates.

Overview

Our grade 8 class read the story “Air It, Pump It”, a history on the making of running shoes, in our magazine anthology. After finishing the story in class, we were assigned a project, to make an advertisement on a new product for the future. The class was split up in to groups and each group designed an advertisement for their product which they presented in front of the class. At the end of the presentations we took a vote on who’s was the best, and who’s would be most likely to sell. Here are some of the projects our class came up with: The Night Hovers, L.A.M. Hair Products, Fantasy Horseshoes, and C.C.A Heated Winter-Wear. After everything was finished, we wrote descriptions of each advertisements, and of the project itself, and then scanned the ads onto our school website, where everyone can view them.
