This project looks at various aspects of our environment, and its impact on our lives. By having such a broad umbrella unifying theme, classes of multiple grade levels were able to be involved, and use our Environment webpages as sources of information. One particularly unique aspect of this project was the
involvement of UPEI Bachelor of Education students as mentors through a shared Knowledge Forum
database. This has demonstrated the value of expanding the definition of a school community.
Grade 4's researched various types of habitats in groups, benefitting from partnership with UPEI students. Various Grade 8 and 9 students looked at diversity of life, as did several Grade 4-6 students as part of their Science Fair research. An exploration of the seasons in our habitat was covered by a combination of our grade 1's and 2's. Our Grade 5's supplemented their work with seasonal graphics which showcased their creativity.
