This project demonstrates that learning can be multigenerational, as the major partners in this project were in Grade 4 and university students, who, from all accounts, learned a great deal from each other, about the subject areas researched, as well as about how to integrate the technology. As Knowledge Forum (relies on Internet connection with the server in Charlottetown) was utilized as the vehicle of collaboration, participants were able to see progress on a regular basis, demonstrating that the process is as important as the product in the integration of technology. The Internet was also one of the sources of information for students as they researched their various habitats in groups. In addition, students enjoyed using AppleWorks to create original graphics about their chosen habitat. This software was also used to create the class newsletter. In essence, by having the students using technology on a daily basis, they quickly learned that it is integral to learning, regardless of the theme they are exploring. Initial brainstorming using Inspiration demonstrated yet another way to integrate technology.
