Past The person I interviewed, Ray, told me about many things in the marine enviroment that I didn't know. He told me that they fished out off the wharf on windy days ,and on days that it was nice they fished out of boats.Also that fishing was less controversial now than it was back then.That he thinks that people should just try and get along.There was many different creatures back then that people didn't know anything about that people today treat like pets.Ray said that his parents told him that lobsters,oysters,mussels and fish were food and that they were safe to eat, and to only to tamper with things that his father showed him. Fishing in the early years involved mostly men,lobster stocks were plentiful back then ,but now it's on a downward spiral.The first traps were made from wagon wheel rims and netting.Today they are made out of wood , but it has to be strong wood to last in the rough seas we sometimes get? Present Marine enviroment today is very different then it was back in the first of the century.Today there is more technology today they depth sounders the tell you were the fish are and how deep of water your in,insted of just going by instinct.Also people have more and more technical thing in there boats like:refridgerators,microwaves,furnaces.
