The Seasons project allowed students in a couple of different classrooms to work together on a unified theme, each contributing relevant work that they were doing in class with a broader audience.
Students from the youngest classroom learned how to use the digital camera to record significant events in their program, such as field trips. They also saw how to take images they created with different textures, scan them and share them with a broader audience, whether as graphics or puzzles. Grade 2 students explored AppleWorks draw/paint programs, using circles to create their seasonal images, which tied in well with their Circles and Cycles theme. Basic word processing skills came into play as students recorded general information as introductions to the various components.
