Dear Student,
I live in Prince Edward Island. I am 12 years old and I’m in grade 7. I’m in a class with 34 other kids. My subjects are Language Arts, Math, French, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies and Health. My favorite subjects are Physical Education and Social Studies.
In my family I have my mom and dad, then I have two sisters. My dad works out in Western Canada and my mom work temporarily walking for diseases in potato fields. What do your parents do for a living?
My house is yellow and it is 4 stories high. In the summer our neighbors grow corn in the front fields. My house is one of the oldest ones in my community because it is around 95 years old. We moved to this house 9 years ago.
Before in my letter I said that my dad works in Western Canada. That’s pretty much on the opposite side of Canada than Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island is that smallest province in Canada. How big is your community? The language of my community is mostly English. What language do they speak in your community?
At my school, I play softball and basketball. Basketball starts in the winter, so it’s going to start really soon. I play softball on my summer break and I play it for my school. What sports do you play? My school has grades 1-9, then you go to high school. My school is a small one compared to the other ones on Prince Edward Island. My school just got some new renovations a few years ago. What is your school like? There are around 250 kids that go to my school. How many kids go to your school?
On Prince Edward Island we just had a little bit of a snowfall. The weather man said that it was going to snow 10-15 centimeters and that is a a lot of snow. What type of weather do you guys have?    For holidays we celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Canada Day and there’s more but I just can’t think of them right now. What holidays do you guys celebrate?
We have 4 seasons, summer, winter, fall, and spring. In winter it can get very cold, in fall it’s not too cold and not too warm, in spring it’s pretty warm and in summer it can get really hot. Well, I hope to hear from ya.
From,
A Grade 7 student
