When you look at human mosaic, you realize that there are many groups of people that are not represented just by their cultural background, or their diversity. People we interact with every day can belong to more informal groups, like a group of friends, or veterans or even people who have committed crimes. Basically everyone belongs to many different groups.
Here groups of students explored such groups in different ways. Grade 8 technology Arts students created a couple of slideshows using AppleWorks that incorporated such technology skills as word processing, graphics, graphics editing and brainstorming. Then other Grade 8 groups integrated Language Arts, Health and Technology by creating pamphlets on Friendship using AppleWorks. Finally all grades in the school worked on creatively representing veterans, and Remembrance Day, through the use of poems, stories and artwork, which are showcased using word processing, digital camera and scanning.
