I wanted to learn more about snowmobiles and their history on P.E.I.. Here are some questions I had on them:  Who invented the first snowmobile? What makes snowmobiling so popular these days? At first I think a German invented snowmobiles. I think snowmobiling got popular because you can go for long relaxing drives.

Past:
I interviewed my grandfather. I learned that he owned all kinds of snowmobiles. I also found out that he doesn't know who invented the first one either. I learned that the first snowmobile every invented was in 1928.

I learned that the first person to build a snowmobile successfully was a Canadian. A Canadian by the name of Joseph-Armand Bombardier is the father of snowmobiling.  He was from Quebec. By 1930 he made a machine that could travel across snow using tracks. That company is now one of the biggest manufacturers of transportation equipment in the world.

Present:
I know that people like to take snowmobiles for long drives. There are many different kinds of snowmobiles. People have races with them and just like to go cruising around with them. They like to have jumping competitions with them. Some snowmobiles are Polaris, Yamaha, Arctic Cat.
