Age Regulations for PEISAA and Zone Four Activities

Students shall be classified by age and/or grade as of February 1 (Except for lower ages as shown at the bottom of the page) of the school year with a refinement at the Senior High School relating to enrollment. Grade classifications apply only to juvenile and midget. For the purpose of competition the age and grade classification shall be:

• Senior - 3 years of eligibility after entrance to Grade X

• Juvenile - under 16 years on February 1 of school year and in Grade X, XI or XII Exception Track & Field and Cross Country

• Midget - under 16 years on February 1 of school year and not in Grade X, XI, or XII Exception Track and Field and Cross Country

• Bantam - under 14 years on February 1 of school year

• Novice - under 12 years on February 1 of school year

• Pre-Novice - for cross country and gymnastics only, under 10 years on January 1 of school year

Age Race cut - off dates (Zone Four Track and Field Meets Only).

**    Although there are children in each grade who may compete against children in a higher grade level, it is important that they are competing against children of the same age.  That being said, the following ages will be followed for the Zone Four Track and Field Competitions:

-    6 and under (50 m) - 6 years old before November 1st 2008.
-    7 and under (50 m) - 7 years old before October 1st 2008.
-    8 Years (50 m) - 8 years old before November 1st, 2008.
-    9 Years (50 m) - 9 years old before December 1st, 2008.
-    10 Years (50 m) - 10 years old before January 1st, 2009.
-    11 Years (50 m) - 11 years old before February 1st, 2009.
