Yearbook Prize Bingo Appeal:
Parents are asked to help out, if possible, with
prize donations for the Yearbook Prize Bingo. The event will be held Friday May
23rd here at the school beginning at 7:00 pm.
If you are able to help, could you send items to the school by Tuesday May 20.
It would be greatly appreciated. STUDENT SERVICES:
All grade 12 students attending UPEI in the fall should have met with the First
Year Advisement Centre to ensure your early registration.
Students 14 to 16 years interested in becoming Counsellors in Training at Oak
Acres Childrens Camp for the summer should see Mr. Farrell.
Summer employment opportunity at Cable Head, see Mr. Farrell.
PEI Amateur Film Festival accepting films from interested students. See Mr.
Farrell.
Orin Carver Scholarship now available - top 25% of class - attending UPEI or
Holland College. Excellence and leadership in athletics and/or Community
service. Deadline is May 30th.
MARLIN ATHLETICS:

Track & Field tryouts will begin on Tuesday after school at 3:15 - events are
100, 200, 400 metre Midget & Senior Boys & Girls.
Bus leaves at 2:45 pm on today for softball games against Bluefield at York
Point.
STUDENT COUNCIL:
Matt MacInnis, Dawson MacMillan,
Chris Dennis, Stephanie Davey, Graeme Forrest and Shauna Lee Regular please see
Mrs. Gordon at 1st break to discuss Provincial Student Conference on May 30th.
Student Council meeting today at 12 noon to discuss next weeks event. All
members please attend.
Canadian Student Leadership Conference - Only room for 2 students left to go.
Please talk to Mrs. Gordon at today’s meeting if planning to attend.
Pre-registration is due by May 16th(this Friday).
Dance and “Drive In” Movie on Thursday, May 22, tickets will be available the
week before the event for sale in the Lobby. Cost is $6.00 for Dance & Move -
$5.00 for Dance - $2.00 for Drive In. Students are encouraged to come to both
events and save $1.00 off the cost of going to separate events. Popcorn and
Pizza for sale $1.00 for a bag of popcorn and $2.00 for pizza slice. Theme for
the dance is 60-70's. The move is no longer GREASE, instead a sign up sheet will
be posted today until Wednesday and students can put a movie of their choice -
14 or under please.
A sign-up sheet will be posted on Friday, May 16th for a Dodge Ball Tournament
at the end of May. Five players per team grades 9-11 only. A cost of $2.00 per
player for lunch and snacks on the day of the tournament. At least one girl per
team. This tournament will also include teams from the Grade 8 level as a
welcome to high school event.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Prom Meeting (Mandatory) today at 12:00 (Friday) in the
Library.
SADD Meeting today at 11:40 am in Mrs. Doyle’s room.
On Tuesdsay, May 20, 2008 there will be ice-cream sundaes for sale by the
cafeteria $2.00 each. Will include 2 scoops of ice-cream and your choice of
toppings. All proceeds will go to HIKE for Hope-Cape Chignecto for Rwanda. There
will be a short meeting at 12:00 sharp today for any grade nines involved.
Students the Yearbook Bingo is May 23 and we need your support - each family is
asked to bring in one prize for the Bingo. Without this Bingo and the funds
raised - the price to students for a year book would be very high. Please take
in your prize this week!
Any grads with pictures they would like put on the graduate mural please give
them to either Melissa MacDonald, Ellen MacDonald, Whitney Gallant or Jenna
Bysterveldt.
