GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT
1. Accidental damage to school property should be reported immediately to a staff member. Deliberate damage to school property is the financial responsibility of the student doing the damage, and he/she will be subject to further disciplinary action.
2. Smoking is prohibited on school property. Smoking on school property will result in suspensions subject to School Board policy.
3. Any student using or in possession of alcohol or drugs on school property or during school activities will be suspended at the discretion of the administration.
4. Any student (s) who become involved in a fight on school premises will be suspended for a period of time not to exceed five (5) days at the discretion of the school administration.
5. Lockers are provided for each student at an initial caution fee of ten (10) dollars and five (5) dollars each subsequent year. Students are responsible for keeping lockers clean and locked. At such time as a student ceases to be a student at Morell High, five dollars of the caution fee will be returned to the student provided that the proper lock is on the locker, and that the locker passes inspection. Student lockers are the property of the school, and are intended for student use. From time to time, locker checks may be carried out by the administration to ensure that proper use is being made of the lockers.
6. Students who wish to bring vehicles to school MUST park them in the student parking designated areas. The bus and staff parking areas are out of bounds to student vehicles. If the parking privileges are abused, student vehicle keys must be passed in at the office until such time as the student leaves the premises. Students MUST register their cars at the office if they plan to use student parking areas.
There is no student parking at the front of the school.
7. Students are financially responsible for damage to, or loss of textbooks and library books. Final marks will be withheld until all books are properly returned or replaced.
8. No student is allowed in the office area beyond the counter . The pay telephone is for student use. The office telephone is to be used for emergency purposes only. Messages will be taken for incoming calls and relayed to students at breaks. Students will be called from class for telephone calls only in case of emergency.
9. Students who become sick early in the day and use the sick room are required to telephone home and request to be picked up by a parent or guardian.
10. Students who allow a course to go incomplete after the last day of classes in any semester will receive no credit for that course.
11. Students are not allowed to wear caps within the school building.
12. Students will be charged $0.25 per copy for photocopies.
