Kick-off the Year with Kindness

Welcome to our “Kick-off with Kindness” home page.

Although kindness to one another is promoted and implemented continuously throughout our school on a daily basis, the students in Grade 5/6 worked together to create interesting kindness activities across the curriculum, which we feel you will enjoy and benefit both you and your students.

The students brainstormed and searched the Internet for “quotes of kindness” then put their word-processing skills to work to create and complete a display entitled “Kick-off the Year with Kindness”.

Jigsaw puzzles, word searches and a crossword puzzle were created to test your knowledge of kindness and your interactive skills.

The students had a lot of fun creating and digitally recording their "Heart Sucker" activity and saw first hand the effect of what an act of kindness has on another individual.

After completing the novel Mama’s Going to Buy You a Mockingbird, they put their artistic skills to work and created scenes from the book that were acts of kindness.

In Physical Education, they created several games where kindness to others, working together, and physical activity were the theme.

We had a great deal of enjoyment creating these activities along with familiarizing ourselves with the following I.C.T. skills: wordprocessing, scanning, searching the Internet, digitally recording and creating interactive games.

We hope that you enjoy viewing our site.
