O'LEARY KINDERGARTEN

O'Leary kindergarten believes in the philosophy that children require an environment which provides warmth, care, guidance and the encouragement necessary to nurture and sustain growth and development in the complex world of childhood.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The O'Leary kindergarten is a public program which follows a curriculum provided by the Dept. of Education.  The curriculum allows children to explore and investigate personally meaningful tasks.  Children perform such tasks as building and making things together and reporting their activities to each other.  The curriculum is also designed to help foster independence, confidence, a feeling of self worth, as well as to help develop positive social skills.  The kindergarten program provides the opportunity for children to learn to communicate effectively with each other, to problem-solve and to deal with conflict in a non-aggressive way.
