Minister of State for Children and Youth....Recently, the Canadian Home and School Federation (CHSF) called on the Harper Government to establish a Minister of State for Children and Youth. Governments are always touting how much money they are investing into the economy of Canada – it is now time to invest more in our children! PEIHSF will begin a Twitter campaign to advocate for this position using the power of social media. Click on the Twitter Button and Tweet your comments.

HOME AND SCHOOL TOOL KIT

A new Home and School Tool Kit has been developed to help families navigate their child's learning journey. The kit is part of the PEI Home and School Federation's Parent Engagement Initiative which is supported by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
“The Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation created a tool kit filled with excellent information for parents,” said Minister McIsaac. “Parents play an important role in our education system. The Parent Engagement Tool Kit serves as a guide to parent-led, school-partnered projects that help better student learning and community involvement.” -Hon. Alan McIsaac

Resolutions were discussed and passed which, if actioned by government and school boards, will ultimately improve the education for Island students.  Round table discussions raised some very important and timely issues.....more
