September is upon us already and with it comes the shift in gears from summer holidays to the return to school. This can be a time of mixed emotions for parents/ guardians and their school children. If parents/guardians are excited and positive about the first day, your enthusiasm will likely be passed on to your children. Help your child overcome any fears of the first day by talking about it and passing on some of your ‘return to school’ experiences when you were young. Reading Comprehension Week - Glen Stewart Elementary
The entire school and its families participated in a week-long event focusing on reading
comprehension in which parents and children read together and practiced reading
strategies together. On Monday evening, Robyn Mcauley, language arts specialist with
the Department of Education, provided tips for parents about the reading process and
