This new Atlantic Provinces Education Foundation (APEF) course provides the students with the basic principles of chemistry. The outcomes learning approach encourages clear connections between scientific knowledge, society, technology, and the nature of science itself. The course consists of four units of study:

2. Matter as Solutions and Gases
3. Quantitative Relationships in Chemical Changes
4. Chemical Bonding in Matter
