Mole Stoichiometry 1
Name: ___________________
For each of the following problems, write the balanced chemical reaction and then make the necessary calculations.
1. Sodium bicarbonate reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce sodium chloride, water, and carbon dioxide gas. Calculate the number of moles of sodium chloride produced when 0.35 mol of sodium bicarbonate reacts.
2. Calculate the number of moles of phosphoric acid required to react with 0.750 mol of potassium hydroxide.
3. Aluminum metal will react with sulfuric acid in a single replacement reaction.
a. Calculate the quantity (moles) of aluminum required to react with 0.600 mol of sulfuric acid.
b. If 0.75 mol of aluminum reacts, how many moles of hydrogen are produced?
4. Nitrogen gas will react with hydrogen gas to produce ammonia - NH3.
a. How many moles of nitrogen are needed to react with 0.450 mol of hydrogen?
b. If 2.0 mol of hydrogen reacts, how many moles of ammonia are produced?
c. Calculate the number of moles of nitrogen required to produce 6.0 mol of ammonia.
5.a. Calculate the quantity of sodium chloride needed to react with 0.575 mol of sulfuric acid in a reaction.
b. In this reaction above, if 4.0 mol of sulfuric acid are used, how many moles of hydrochloric acid are produced?
c. Calculate the quantity of sodium chloride needed to produce 0.650 mol of sodium sulfate.
