Name: ___________________
For each of the following problems, write the balanced chemical reaction and then make the necessary calculations.
1. Lead (II) nitrate reacts with sodium iodide to produce lead (II) iodide and sodium nitrate.
a. Calculate the quantity of sodium iodide required to react with 0.45 mol of lead (II) nitrate.
b. If 2.5 mol of lead (II) nitrate react, calculate the quantity of lead (II) iodide produced.
c. If 5.9 mol of sodium iodide react, how many moles of lead (II) iodide are produced?
2. Aluminum metal will reacts with oxygen gas in a simple composition reaction.
a. Calculate the quantity of oxygen required to produce 6.8 mol of aluminum oxide.
b. If 8.9 mol of aluminum react, how many moles of aluminum oxide are produced?
c. Calculate the quantity of oxygen required to react with 0.50 mol of aluminum.
3. Iron (III) chloride will react with calcium hydroxide.
a. How many moles of iron (III) chloride are required to react with 0.750 mol of calcium hydroxide.
b. If 6.6 mol of iron (III) chloride react, how many moles of calcium chloride are produced?
c. Calculate the quantity of calcium hydroxide required to produce 0.900 mol of iron (III) hydroxide.
d. If the reaction produces 1.25 mol of iron (III) hydroxide, calculate the quantity of calcium chloride produced.
