Newton Ask a Scientist. A large site where you can e-mail a question to a scientist. They also have an archive of 1000's of questions (since 1991) and answers in a variety of scientific disciplines. Lots of fun questions. 

Just ask Antoinne General Chemistry Online!  Written for the beginning chemistry student this site contains notes, common compound library, frequently asked questions, online help, online quizzes, glossary and a searchable database of 400 web resources for beginning chemistry students.

Sheffield University Chemistry for schools. Links and resources by Mark Winter, author of WebElements. Includes Chemdex listed below and Chemputer _calculates %composition etc.

The Sheffield Chemdex: the directory of chemistry on the WWW since 1993. Database of chemistry sites on web, searchable. Gives ratings for top sites, most popular, etc. Easy to use.

Exploratorium: Online "museum of science art and human perception. Use their search engine to search for "chemistry in general" or specific topics. Has interactive activities and easy to read articles.

The Macrogalleria:A Cyberwonderland of Polymer Fun. Great site for learning about polymers. 

The School of Polymers and High Performance Materials, The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS; "one of the world's leading institutions for the study of material sciences". In addition to Macrogalleria they have an online polymer science learning centre which is a great source of experiments and demos to be used for exploring how polymers work.

National Academy of Science In_depth article on Polymers and People. includes a time line and popup dictionary of terms

Includes a vast amount of information about the elements including pictures of element structures and periodic properties. This is the favorite site on elements for my students and they used it extensively to develop their own online periodic table

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Writing Center gives a overview in table format of what to include in each component of the paper and the do's and don'ts.

American Chemical Society's (ACS) Reference Style Guidelines
