This is just a brief bit of me griping and at the same time giving you valuable knowledge. The Mummy movies showcase a lot of wonderful bits of Egyptian Art but in order to create an interesting story they corrupt a lot of facts. Here are a couple:
 | Imhotep, in the movie is an evil mummy. The Vizier to a pharaoh who made time with the Pharaoh's girl. in real life Imhotep was the Vizier to King Djoser. He is credited as the architect of the Step Pyramid of Djoser, which is the first time in history that we can identify an artist or architect. He also wrote the world's first book. A little treatise on how to properly behave in royal society. |
| The Scorpion King. Also a historical reference, although by no means was he the Rock walking around all half scorpion like ruling a supernatural army. The tomb of King Scorpion was found 300 miles south of Cairo and date from 3300 - 3200 BCE. It is at this tomb that we find the earliest example of hieroglyphics. |
