"Wow, I finally made it," declared Hippopotomath, "I made it to Mathematicalollpaloosa which is the biggest musical concert ever to exist!"

Yes, it was true, he came a very long way, all the way from the deep, dark, dangerous jungle of Canada, but he managed to make it to the concert of the millennium.

"This is great! Not only do I get to see and head some of my favorite bands, but there is math everywhere!" said the excited Hippo. He walked around a little bit and took in all the sights and sounds of the major event.

"There’s so much math around this place. There’s everything from simple math, like time, to complicated things like matrixes," said Hippopotomath joyously.

"I can use time to calculate the length of a slurred Ozzy Osbourne sentence, to find out how long Clay Aitken will remain on stage before getting booed and I can even find out how long it will take for the tomato to go from the thrower’s hand to the faces of the Rankin Family," said the Hippo as we looked around astounded.

Hippopotomath walked around a little bit more and became even more excited when he saw the "Jumbo-Super-Awesome-Amazing-Really-Big-Mega-Tron" screen which was the same size as 2 football fields. When he got to this, he realized that he could calculate the area of the Jumbo-Super-Awesome-Amazing-Really-Big-Mega-Tron if he wanted to, but since it was much to large, and because he was a heavy hippopotamus that got tired easily, he decided to ship measuring the big screen.

One thing he could do however was look at what was on the screen. It was a list of some of the bands and the name of the first song they’d be playing. It looked like this:

"Wow, that’s a 4x2 Matrix!" exclaimed Hippopotomath happily, "The first column shows the bands and the second column shows the song they’ll be performing...and OH MY GOD...I CAN’T BELIEVE IT...the Spice Girls are going to be performing "If Ya Wanna Be My Lover" later! I can’t wait!"

The happy hippo thought about the different places he’s seen matrixes, like on sports shows when they show they statistics for each team, or on the ballet channel when they show the winner of previous ballet competitions. After he was finished thinking about this, he went on his way and went back to center stage to watch his favourite band, The Spice Girls, perform.

"Wow, what a day this has truly been. I’m so excited. I get to see the Spice Girls as well as do lots of fun and exciting math all in one day!" said the hippo ecstatically, "but unfortunately, my day is coming to an end because it is 11:00pm, or 23:00 for you army folks, and the Spice Girls are the last band performing tonight.....and I want to enjoy them without being distracted by you guys. I had lots of fun today, and I will talk to you all again soon...now beat it and stop bothering me, they’re about to play "Spice World"!"
