My Mathematical Adventure One day I was sitting in my living room watching television and all of the sudden my T.V. shut off, that’s when I noticed that it was broken. So I rushed to the local T.V. store to buy me new T.V. When I got there, I had realized that I had to find out what size I needed to fit into the desk. So I rushed home to figure out what size my T.V. was but once I got home I didn’t know how to measure things and then I remembered the Pythagorean theorem back from high school. So I used Pythagoreans theorem by measuring the width and length of the T.V. and found out that it was 26 inches wide and 27 inches high. Then I squared both of those numbers and added them and I was left with an answer that said my T.V. was 1405 inches and that didn’t seem right so I found the square root of that and I was left with 37.5 inches. So I went back to the store and bought a 37 inch T.V. and came home and tried to put it on the desk for the T.V. but it wouldn’t fit. So I asked my friend how to measure the T.V. the right way and he said that I didn’t have to use Pythagoreans theorem and that all I had to do was take some measuring tape and measure the length and width and that would give me the size of my T.V. So I re-measured my T.V. and found that it was 26 inches by 27 inches and I went to the store and bought a new one. That day I realized that you do not need Pythagoreans theorem to measure your T.V.
