Math in Sports

Math is everywhere! Sports superstar Angela Murphy knew this her whole life. So many people go through math complaining about how they will "never use it again" because of the occupation they plan to pursue in the future, but the fact is, you always will use math your whole life, even when you plan to play a certain sport when you grow up. Here are some examples of those sports that you couldn’t play without mathematics. Basketball is definitely one, without math, without knowing where and at what height to release the ball there would be no hope of the ball falling in the basket. This relates to parabolas because you need to know how much ark you have to put on your shot in order for it to be equal on both sides and to hit your target, and also the distance you should be away from the net and what the balls highest point will be according to that distance.

Also you need to know angles in basketball:

You must hit the backboard at a 45 degree angle to the hoop for it to go in. Another sport is volleyball, to pass the ball, make your arms form a triangle so the sphere ball will deflect off the right surface to make a good pass. Also with volleyball you must time yourself to jump at the right second to contact the ball at the right height and angle.

There are two examples of math in life and there are tons more that happen everyday, so not liking math may not seem like a serious problem now but without hard work and effort, things will definitely get a lot harder along the way.
