| The International Baccalaureate aims to
develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to
create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural
understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with
schools, governments and international organizations to develop
challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across
the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who
understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB Diploma Programme was created in Europe in 1968 as
an opportunity for international schools to be able to deliver a common
curriculum and provide valid university entrance credentials for students
who move from one country to another.
It has developed into an internationally recognized,
challenging two year (grades 11 and 12), pre-university program which
emphasizes critical thinking and offers students a global perspective in
their subject areas. IB graduates are regarded as disciplined,
well-rounded students who have made positive contributions to their school
and community.
There are currently over 1700 schools in over 120
countries which offer the IB Diploma Programme.
