Class Library Use |

The following are guidelines for using the classrooms in
the library, or arranging a class visit:
- Subject teacher and teacher-librarian meet to book a
time and space for class visit. 24 hrs notice is required.
- Teacher-librarian is briefed on project, what the
subject teacher plans to do, what resources are needed, method, and library
space.
- First visit -teacher-librarian has
resources and space prepared for specific needs of class and provides short
instruction period as needed. For Example:
 | show the class how to use periodical indexes to obtain
information |
 | location of periodicals |
 | review use of encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs,
yearbooks, etc. |
 | use of CD-ROM technology |
 | use of MicroCat for locating books and materials |
- Teacher-librarian will stay with the class for the
visit, as needed
- Additional class-time may be booked by the subject
teacher. Space could be:
 | main library |
 | large seminar room |
 | class room (Flag Room) |
- Subject teacher would have responsibility for the class
- Groups of Students (two or more)- prearranging is
necessary for space, resources, purpose. Responsibility for the
students remains with subject teacher.
