In August of last year Rebecca Chapman, Courtney Dill, & Zach McCormack travelled to Poland as members of Team Canada for the International Powerlifting Championships.  
Rebecca captured the overall Silver medal in her division, setting 9 Canadian & 6 Commonwealth records.  
Zach captured the overall Bronze medal in his division, setting 4 Canadian & 1 Commonwealth record.  
Courtney, one of the youngest competitors in attendance, recorded 2 personal bests and established herself as a medal favourite for the World Championships in Texas this summer.

During the recent March break, seven athletes from Souris High travelled to British Columbia for the National Championships.  
When the comptetive dust had settled, all seven Spartans came away with Gold medals as Canadian Champions!:
Zack Acorn, Calvin Mooney, Sean Fitzpatrick, Cara MacKenzie, Tyler Rose, Ben MacNeill, & Courtney Dill.  
In addition,
Cara, Tyler, Ben, & Courtney combined to set 34 National records among them!!

Final selections are made by the Athletic Dept. in consultation with the administration.
