SOURIS REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
EXAMINATION BOOKLET
MISSED EXAMINATIONS
All students are expected to write examinations as scheduled.
If a student is absent, the parent or guardian must phone the school BEFORE the examination is scheduled to be written.
The day the student returns to school, he (she) must make arrangements with the
office to write the missed examination(s).
Failure to do so could result in the
student receiving no credit in the subject.
A medical certificate will be required if a student misses a final exam.

EVALUATION
COURSES WITH A FINAL EXAM:
On the last day prior to final examinations, a student will receive a percentage indicating the culmination of ALL class marks
for the semester.
The weighting of the
exam will be determined by the student’s attendence:
Absent 10 classes or less:
70% Class mark + 30% Exam
Absent more than 10 classes:
50% Class mark + 50% Exam
If a course has no final exam, then no
mark will be given before report cards.
STUDY
AREAS
The Library and Corridors will be designated as SILENT areas during exams.
The Library will be available as
a supervised study area.
If students are in the building during exams but are not writing an exam, then
they are to be in the Library or the Cafeteria.
ASSIGNMENT POLICY
A student failing to pass in all assignments in a subject area will receive a
FAILURE in that subject.
The last major assignment given by the subject teacher will be
due 7 days prior to the examination period.

The last acceptance date for late assignments will be one week prior to the examination
period.

TEXTBOOK COLLECTION
Textbooks should be collected just prior to the exam being written or immediately
after the exam if textbooks are allowed during the examination.
Subject teachers
should ensure that they have an accurate list of lost texts during the examination
period.
Forward to the office by June 15 (for Grade 12), June 21 (for Grades 9-11) a list of textbooks not returned by students. Lost textbooks must be paid for by students. Costs vary and are available through Mr MacDonald. Please pay in the office.
LOCKERS
AND LOCKS
Please have your home room students submit their locks and clean out their lockers before their exams begin. Last date for locker clean out and locks submitted is June 18th. Locks cost $8 to replace.
REPORT
CARDS
Report Cards for Grade 9-11 students may
be picked up from homeroom teachers on the morning of Monday June 26, 2007. No report card will be available until all textbook and lock fees
have been paid. The bus schedule remains at regular times; therefore, some
students may have to wait until 3:00pm in order to catch the bus.
