This years PEI Tackle Football year officially starts up September 22nd, 2002. The first game for the Souris Wildcats is held at the Wildcats home field in Rollo Bay against the Timberwolves.
Over the weekend the PEI Tackle Football Leagues attended an Exhibition Game in Montague. The teams that attended were the Souris Wildcats, the Montage Vikings, and the
Charlottetown Timberwolves. Missing were the Coronal Grey Coronals... apparently they heard of what an amazing football team the Souris Wildcats have this year and chickened out.. (but that's only the speculation of myself).
The first match between the Souris Wildcats and the Timberwolves was a close hard game. The end score was 34-28 for the Wildcats and even though some of us had no doubt that the Wildcats could win, there was speculation from most of the
Souris fans that the Timberwolves would overtake the Wildcats.
The first match between the Coronals and the Wildcats ended in a victory of the
Wildcats. Who are the obvious favorite of all four teams. the Coronals, in all fairness, put up one heck of a fight but in the end, none the less, failed to prevail.
The Timberwovles slaughtered the Wildcats in a well fought game on a horrific field. The Wildcats put up a good fight which in the end went
unappreciated, and some what unnoticed by their devastating lose.
The last game of the Souris Wildcats against the Vikings ended in a forfeit
by the Vikings. Sadly this means that this hard fighting team are out for the season.
