Canada Goose

Identification

Male and Female: The Canada Goose has a black head, neck, and bill, with a white cheek patch; the brest and belly are pale brown with white flecks; their feet and legs are black; their back and wings are brown with white edging; a short black tail; a white rump, that is seen in flight. During flight the Canada Goose flies in a "V" formation. Stands approximately 25-43" or 63-108 cm tall.

Voice: The Canada Goose's voice is a musical honk, repeated. The female's, however is a slightly higher pitch honk.

Food: Their diet consists of grass, various seeds, sand, and grain.

Nest/Eggs: A large nest of twigs, moss, grass, and lined with feathers placed near the water's edge. 4-8 eggs.

Note: Due to the fact that the Canada Goose looks the same in both male and female, I have combined these together under the one heading.
