Report Cards will go home with the students on Wednesday, February 10th. Interviews will be held on:
Thursday, February 11th 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday, February 12th through the day.

The Cross-Country Ski club has begun. The club will be held each Tuesday and Thursday weather permitting.

Valentine’s Dance - There will be a Valentine’s Dance for Grades 7 and 8 students on Wednesday, February 10th beginning at 12:30 p.m.

  • The 2010 SKC Wrestling Program will begin on Tuesday, February 9th at 2:30 p.m. Coaches Kyle MacKenzie and Ben McCarron will be conducting practices every Tuesday until provincials on April 16th to April 17th. It will be important for wrestlers to regularly attend practice and to be properly dressed with t-shirts, shorts or sweat pants. Students can be picked up at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course will be offered at SKC on Wednesday, April 7th and Thursday, April 8th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for interested students who are 10 years, 7 months or older. The cost of the course is $25 (with handbook) or $30.00 if the student wants a First Aid Kit. More information will be given to interested students at a later date.

Feature
Parents are a very important part of the school by participating in the SKC Home and School Association, Lunch Program, classroom volunteering, and many committees. Parents can also participate in the school via the school's website and Home & School Newsletter, as well as by attending evening events. The SKC Home & School meeting previously scheduled for Tuesday, February 2nd will be cancelled this week and rescheduled at a later date.

Highlights

  • We plan to have a Science Fair for students in Grades 4 - 8 on Thursday, February 25th. Storm date is Friday, February 26th. More information will be sent home with students who plan to enter the fair. The Regional Science Fair will be held on March 8th and 9th, 2010. Science Fair Club continues each Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Check out our school's Science Experiments website for great ideas for the science fair.
