One room school houses were the backbone of education in Gaspereaux, Little Sands, Lower Montague, Murray Harbour, Murray Harbour North, Murray River, Panmure Island, Peters Road, Sturgeon, and White Sands in Kings County, Prince Edward Island, until not too many years ago, 1972, when Southern Kings Consolidated School was built to accommodate over 500 students coming from these surrounding communities.

SKC students researched the geography, history, culture, and businesses of their own local communities, and collaboratively created this website to showcase their communities which surround Southern Kings Consolidated School. It gives a real insight into what is special in their own local communities, that is, the many places to visit and interesting people to meet.
