The Physical Education program is staffed by a Physical Education Specialist. Each child receives three 30 minute sessions per six day cycle and provisions are made for individual sessions if students exhibit gross motor or fine motor difficulties.

The program is well balanced and in the early years concentrates on skills that are important to the movement development of the children. Throughout the program an emphasis on fitness and enjoyment is stressed.

Extra Curricular sports or competition with other elementary schools is restricted to Grades 3, 4, 5 & 6.

Presently our school competes in cross-country running, gymnastics and track and field. All students are encouraged to participate in these club teams.

An intramural program is offered at noon time for students in grades 4, 5 & 6. This program emphasizes fair play, participation and fun. Traditionally, participation has been 95% or better as students seem to enjoy the various competitive and novelty games.

Two special annual events organized for students are the Ice Sports and Fun Day in February and our Play Day in June. These events are open to all students and the emphasis is on participation and fun.

The school offers a skating program during school hours in the Winter. Supervision and transportation will be provided by the school. Parents are responsible for making sure their children have skates that fit properly and a helmet. A limited number of skates and helmets are available from the school.
