The
Menorah
The Menorah is a special candle holder used during Hanukkah. It holds nine candle. The middle candle is larger than the rest. It is called the shammas. It is used to light the other candles. On the first night of Hanukkah one candle is lit. The candles are lit starting from left to right, starting with the candle for the newest night. This continues for eight nights. It reminds Jewish people of the miracle that kept the light in the temple for eight days.
