Ujamaa - Cooperative economics - we should meet our common needs by helping each other

Kujichagulia - Self-Determination - find our common interests and think about what is best for the community

Umoja - Unity and the importance of togetherness "I am We"

Ujima - Collective Work and Responsibility Reminds us of our obligation to the past

Nia -Purpose set personal goals that will benefit the community

Imani - Faith honoring the best of our traditions, helps us strive for a higher level of life for humankind
