School Rules
1. Students are expected to show respect for their supervisors including teachers, bus drivers, custodian, secretary, teacher assistants, and visitors. Respect for self and for fellow students is also expected.
2. Teachers are to be addressed as Mr., Mrs., or Ms.
3. Students are to refrain from damaging, defacing, or destroying school and personal property of others. If damage occurs, it will be the responsibility of the student(s) to repair or to replace.
4. Students are expected to follow the "HANDS OFF POLICY" at all times.
5. If a student wishes to be dropped off in a place other than his/her regular stop or wishes to travel with another parent, he/she must have written parental permission which will be given to the teacher. Otherwise, the student will be sent home on the bus.
6. The telephone at the school has been installed for school business. Students are NOT to use it unless absolutely necessary.
7. It is essential to the safety and well being of our students that passing through the corridors be done in a quiet and orderly manner. Because of the danger of injury, running or other "general horseplay" will not be considered acceptable in the school building. For the same reason the following is prohibited on school property:
a) Riding bicycles during school hours (The school strongly recommends the wearing of a safety helmet)
b) Throwing sticks, stones or snowballs
c ) Fighting or wrestling and the like
8. The staff room, ice cream and photocopy room, and office areas are for staff only; students are to knock and enter only when instructed to do so.
9. Students are to use only acceptable language; no profanity or obscenity on school property and/or on buses.
10. Caps, offensive t-shirts, short shorts, belly tops, and body suits are considered inappropriate in-school wear.
11. Students must wear indoor footwear at all times.
12. Students are expected to practice good habits of health and cleanliness.
13. Students are to go outside during recreational breaks, weather permitting. A written note must be forwarded
to the child’s teacher if the child is to remain inside due to illness.
14. Students will create a good learning environment by:
a) Walking quietly through the school
b) Following teacher’s instructions
c) Doing their best
d) Working cooperatively with others
e) Being prepared for class
15. No chewing gum on the school bus or on school property.
16. Birthday party invitations: due to the number of problems regarding birthday invitation being passed out
at school (i.e. students upset because they are being left out), we are no longer allowing any invitation to be
passed out at school regardless of whether or not all children in the class are being invited.
