The mission staff is a combination of volunteers & staff who are responsible for the logistics of Team PEI. Leading up to and during the games, the mission staff will be working with the team officials and the Bathurst-Campbellton host committee to ensure that the Canada Games experience is as pleasant as possible for all the participants.
The 2003 Team PEI Mission Staff will be under the leader ship of John Morrison, who will be the chef-de-mission.
John Morrison - Chef(Charlottetown, PE)
- A member of Team PEI's Mission Staff for the past seven sets of games.
- Served as assistant chef on three occassions.
- Staff member with the Culture, Heritage, Recreation, & Sport section of the Department of Community & Cultural Affairs.
Francois Caron - Assistant Chef(Summerside, PE)
- Attended 1993 Canada Games as an athlete, and was a member of Team PEI Mission Staff in 2001.
- Staff member with the Culture, Heritage, Recreation, & Sport section of the Department of Community & Cultural Affairs.
Nancy MacMillian (O'Leary, PE)
- Head Coach of Team Atlantic(under 18), 2001 Women's Hockey Team
- Head Coach of 1999 PEI Canada Games Women's Hockey Team
- Assistant Coach of Team PEI Senior Women's Hockey Team(2001)
- Manager of 1991 PEI Canada Games Women's Hockey Team
Gretchen Schleyer (Charlottetown, PE)
- Coaching artistic gymnastics for 30 years
- 1991-2001 Chair of women's program with Gymnastics Canada
- Chef of the charlottetown Zone for 1997 PEI Mutual Provincial Games
- Attended the Canada Games in the capacity of athlete, coach, mission staff, and organizing committee
Tara Costello (Charlottetown, PE)
- Attended Canada Games as an athlete (1993) and as a Team Official(2001)
- Certified with the Canadian Mental Training Registry
- Instructor with the Sport & Leisure Program (ATHI) - Holland College
- Attending World Junior Curling Championships in Kelowna, BC (2002)
Ted Lawlor
- Employed as the Provincial Amateur Sport Coordinator
- Previously served as Chef-de-Mission and as a mission staff member
- Played with Team Canada at the World Senior Baseball Championships
Joanne Wallace
- Attended the Canada Games with Team PEI Mission in 1989 and 2001
- Coached a number of Community and Provincial Teams
- Represented PEI at the National in the sports of hockey and softball
Mike Annear
- Attended the 1997 Canada Games as an Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer
- Coach a number of community based teams
- Level 5 hockey referee
- Master course conductor for theory courses
Garth Turtle
- Coached a number of School and Provincial Teams
- Coached at the Canada Games hosted by Thunder Bay
- Held a variety of administrative roles including the President of the PEISAA for 5 years and the President of the Canadian School Sport Federation for 2 years
