DESCRIPTION  - This is a course that builds upon the basic ideas and experiences introduced in Art 401.  You will learn to develop your expression of individual ideas using the art forms of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.  The main focus of the course is to develop originality in composition through a working knowledge of the theories of art.

Examples from the Modern era of art history through out the world, Canada, and PEI are viewed and discussed as background for projects and to help you formulate ideas for your own work.  An emphasis on working independently and self-criticism will be stressed.

The progress and participation of your work will be closely evaluated.  You will be expected to complete course work including homework assignments, term projects and tests and examinations to the best of your ability.  This is an intermediate level course that has a prerequisite of Art 401. This is a comprehensive course and is flexible in content and instruction in order to complete and understand course objectives.
