Styles of Expression
2 Point Perspective
Styles of Expression 2002-03
Artists can express themselves in variations of the 3 styles of expression. Styles of expression are based on how close to reality a subject is represented.
Representational art consists of subject matter that replicates real life as closely as possible. The art work is almost photographically real.
Abstract art subject matter that remains recognizeable. However the objects represented here are broken down into simple shapes, colours, lines, etc.
Non-objective art has no recognizeable subject and is the type of art furthest from reality. Artwork is purely about elements and principles of art, and/or art materials.
In this project, students illustrated the 3 styles of expression. One subject was applied to the 3 styles of expression. The result is a subject slowly being tranformed from a realistic looking drawing to pure non-objective art.
