Dramatic

A poem in which a single character, addressing a silent listener,
explains his actions at an important moment or crisis in his life.

As he speaks, he unconsciously reveals his state of mind, his history,
and his relations to other people.
His words also evoke the setting of the action.

The most famous dramatic monologues in english literature
were writen by Robert Browning.
They include,

"My Lost Duchess"

"Andrea Del Sarton"

The series of poems constituting
"The Ring"
and the book.
