2. Photosynthesis is the process of taking in energy from the sunlight and transforming it into chemical energy.
   
   
3. There are two different types of reactions that occur in photosynthesis. The first is the light reaction. This reaction takes place only in the presence of sunlight. The second type of reaction that occurs is the dark reaction. Also called the Calvin cycle named after it's inventor, Melvin Calvin.
