The Cell
| Cells are the basic unit of
life. There are two basic cell types based on certain
cytological features. There are numerous parts of the cell
designed to carry out specific functions. One of the major
features of a cell is its ability to maintain homeostasis.
This is achieved by passive and active transport. Organisms
may have their cells arranged in one of three different ways:
unicellular, colonial, and multicellular. Further details are
