Describe some clotting problems.

Explain the 3 lines of defense the body has against pathogens.

Explain the immune response as it occurs against a virus and a bacterium.

Compare and contrast active and passive immunity.

Know the various blood types (ABO system) and how they are determined.

Know how blood types affect blood transfusions.

What are Rh factors and how are they determined? How are they a problem during pregnancy?

What causes rejection during organ transplants and how can it be avoided?

What is AIDS and how does it affect the immune system?

Why would a person not die directly from having the HIV virus?

How is HIV spread and how can it be prevented?

Describe the allergic response.

What is an autoimmune disease? What are some examples and what has gone wrong to cause them?
