Principal's Message

I am looking forward to beginning of the school year, there is nothing better than having a school full of excited children and staff. There are a number of minor changes that the school will see this year. The first is the French teacher, Ms. Jennifer Adams, who is now Madame MacDonald. We have a combined 2/3 and 4/5. Ms. Sullivan-Young is the 2/3 homeroom and Mr. Wood is the homeroom teacher for 4/5. We also have Ms. Targett back in the grade 6 class. Ms. Murphy is back and she is the grade 9 homeroom teacher this year.

This academic year will prove to be one that could see more changes. The Eastern School District is still looking at re-organizing some school zones. There is no indication as to the zones or the impact of this issue as of yet.

Despite our declining enrollment and cuts in teaching staff, all our teachers, EAs and support staff are very committed to delivering the best possible programming for your children. We have a very enthusiastic and competent staff that will work hard everyday to ensure that Vernon River Consolidated School remains the high achieving school that we are accustomed to.
