Vernon River Consolidated School is located in the serene agriculture community of Vernon River. At present, approximately 130 students from Grade 1 to Grade 9 attend the school which also houses the kindergarten. The staff includes 1 Principal, 1 Vice-principal, an Administrative Assistant, 10 Teachers, 1 Teacher-Librarian, 4 Teacher Assistants, 1 shared Guidance Counselor, and 2 Custodial Staff. Vernon River is also fortunate to have a wonderful number of volunteers in our "Love" program.
At Vernon River Consolidated School,
students in the primary grade take part in mathematics, language arts, science,
health, social studies, art, music, computer technology, and physical education.
In grade 4 French is added to the students schedules. In grade 6 students' music
class is an introductory band program. In the junior high grades student may
take band or special studies. They also travel to Montague Junior High School to
participate in home economics, industrial arts and technology arts.
Courses within the authorized programs may be enriched, adapted, or modified in
an attempt to meet the individual needs of students.
Vernon River is in the Montague family
of schools and a part of the Eastern School District.
