EMERGENCY EVACUATION GUIDELINES

There are various emergency situations that we must consider.

Early Closure Due to Storms, Power Failure or Similar Situations

Buses will be called in

Radio stations will be notified.

School Board Office (Transportation) will be notified.

Students will be asked for confirmation that they know where they will go and that it is safe.

Buses take students home.

 

Bomb Threats

An announcement ( CODE BLUE ) will be made on the PA System, OR, a staff member will notify each teacher. Students will be taken immediately from the school, and taken WELL AWAY from the building.

RCMP will be called.

School Board will be notified.

Buses will be called in to transport students home. ( Depending on the situation.)

 

Violent Situations

Depending on the situation, we can announce it as a Code Blue, as above.

Alternatively, teachers will be notified to take their students out of a the school through a specific exit.

RCMP will be called.

School Board will be notified.

Buses will be called in to transport students home. ( Depending on the situation.)

NOTE: We do have access to Vernon River Hall should that ever be required.
