Peer Mediation Program

We have an active Peer Mediation Program. Each year 12 students are trained in peer mediation skills. These students learn skills of empathy, communication, active listening, use of 'I' messages, etc. These students learn how to help their peers solve conflicts in a peaceful manner. These students are also peace ambassadors as they often are solely responsible for facilitating assemblies.

The role of Resource services in the school is based on the needs of each child. One aspect of the role is diagnostic and will be done at the referral of the classroom teacher.

The resource teachers also work with classroom teachers and other staff in adapting and modifying programs for students who are having difficulty with grade level programming. Resource programs are developed individually to enhance the development of each child who participates in the program.
