| Remembrance Day Many people are sad when they go to war. I wish there was no war. A lot of people didn't want to go to war but they had to go. Some people would care about their country and fight to save other people. When the soldiers died, their friends would put a cross up, and maybe poppies would grow around it. When soldiers died, their parents would still love and remember them. Some people might be brave and some people might become a hero. Some people were hurt bad before they died. On Remembrance Day we wear poppies to remember them. Samantha Arnold |

| November 11th We wear a poppy on Remembrance Day. Thanks for Remembrance Day. The war was in France. Flanders was where some soldiers died, Just to keep Canada free. In Flanders Fields the poppies grow, Between the crosses. Some soldiers lost a leg or an arm. When I grow up, I do not want to go to war. Jacob Rouse |

| Remember Think of the guns shooting around, And the people that were laying on the ground. I am sad that the people went to war. May their souls rest in peace. My Grandpa went to World War Two. He was feeling very blue. He lost both his legs. I'm glad my Grandpa didn't die. The soldiers dug trenches To hide in, and to have shelters. I feel very sorry for the people That had to go to war. | My Friend the Bug My friend the bug lives in a sand hill, And only comes out in the daytime. He likes to gather food so he won't go hungry. When he gathers food he likes to gather leaves. When he is done getting something to eat, He likes to go back inside his cozy hill, And share his food with all his friends, And then relax for the rest of the day. Kayla Johnston |

Friends Friends are fun, fun, fun. They like to run, run, run. We can play, play, play, On a sunny, sunny day. We can drive far, far, In the car, car, car. We can talk, talk, talk, When we walk, walk, walk. Friends are very, very good, And they make a great playmate. Justin McDonald |

| The Friendship Tower Once there a man named Peter and his wife was named Ann. They went on a vacation to many different places. They found a map and followed it, and they found a friendship castle. They got to be king and queen. One day they got a note from their friends, Amy and George. It said, "Dear Peter and Ann, we enjoyed your castle but we wish you were home." But they did not, absolutely, know where the map was. They looked in the throne room and the eating room. They looked in every single room, but they saw nothing. Then they heard someone say, "I found the map." So they got in their jeep and went to visit their friends. They asked Amy and George if they wanted to castle friends, and they agreed. They all went back to the castle and their friends showed them where to sit and everything else. Their kids enjoyed the visit and everybody else enjoyed it too. And they all lived happily ever after. | In Flanders Fields the poppies grow and that is where some soldiers lay. We wear poppies to remember the soldiers who died one by one. The soldiers saved our country by giving us freedom. We will remember them. They were brave to help our country. When I grow up I do not want to go to war because I might die. I want to stay with my parents and stay alive. I feel good that my Mom and Dad did not have to go to war. But I will always remember to thank the soldiers who fought for us. Keenan Costain |

Remembrance Day Remembrance Day is a special time of year. We wear a poppy to show we care. Remembrance Day is on November 11th. The soldiers, airmen, and sailors fought so Canada could be free. They fought in boats, air planes and in army tanks. The two big wars were from 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945. They say there were over a 110,000 Canadians killed the two wars. There were young people from ages 13 to 19 who fought in the wars. They fought on land, in sea, and up in the air. One of the graveyards is in Flanders Fields. If a bomb went off near someone's ear he or she could go deaf. Many countries had soldiers who fought, and they protected themselves any way they could. | Valentine's Kitten I got a kitten on Valentine's Day. He was so cute and his name was Tigger. Tigger snuggles up with me at bedtime. I take him for walks every day. Tigger snuggles up with me on the sofa. I even play with Tigger at the park. At the park, we met new friends. Tigger met a new friend too. On Valentine's Day we invited friends over. They liked my kitten. They asked what Tigger's name was. On Valentine's Day I gave out cat cards. Caitlin Beazley |
