Tips for Software Selection for Math Instruction - this article provides 10 criteria for reviewing math software for students with learning disabilities.   Written by  Beatrice C. Babbitt, Ph. D.  Associate Professor Special Education University of Nevada, Las Vegas, it is a useful tool for math teachers who are students with special needs in their classrooms.

Online Math Activities -  six different  web sites containing interactive math activities for K to 12 .

AAAMath -a series of practice interactive math activities for Grades K to 12.
Quia Mathematics Activities -  th Games are available for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division,  square root, algebra,  trigonometry, geometry  rounding activities etc.  You can make your own games or play others. 
PBS Math Online - a search feature allows you to search for lesson plans and interactive activities K to 12
MegaMath -   a collection of exciting and unusual math topics  including map coloring, networks, topology, infinity, and logical reasoning. 
Math  Resource Room - a website with links and resources for learning, especially for people who learn differently 
Kids Pysch - flasy, interactive site for developing problem solving skills
Review these six sites and pick one activity that you could use to assist a student with special needs in your 
class.
 

 
4.Creating  Math Activities Online  to use with Special Needs Students
TrackStar - this site allows you to serarch a math activity  or lesson plan and customize it or make your own.
Pro Teacher -this site provides math sheets on graphing that can be printed off and used.
 
 
 

 
 
5.Literature Review of Research in Teaching Math to Students with Learning Difficulties
LD Indepth - This link which  focuses on LD and developing math skills provides 11 articles.  Review the list topics and pick one that interests you to read.

6. PD for Teaching Math to Students with Special Needs

A CAST Workshop to Improve Math Instruction -  Read a summary of a CAST  workshop for teachers on reshaping mathematics instruction to make it accessible to all children in the classroom.  Here Mahesh Sharma, Professor of Education, Provost and Executive Vice    President of Cambridge College, presented an overview of a new teaching model, Vertical Acceleration,  which is a  method for teaching multiplication using the formula for finding the area of a rectangle: area = length x
width.
